The Arts have always been there for me since I was a child. My earliest memory was drawing in a coloring book, and after that I never stopped! After studying Fine Art in university, I then moved to Indiana and got involved in the art scene here. We had to do everything independently – fundraisers, benefits, money raising. Eventually we carved out space that was our own.
We then thought, what could be done about the lack of access in these art spaces? We put on a few nights where the public could come along and use the space to create what they wanted. This is where ArtsWork Indiana came about. We saw how beneficial is was and how much it had boosted peoples lives. I knew then I had to continue this passion.
